OUR ANNUAL HOLIDAY LUNCHEON

What a wonderful time we all had this year at the Holiday Luncheon that was held on December 14 at the home of Elizabeth Blaylock. Marsha Cobb, our Social Chairman, did a terrific job with planning a delightful day for everyone. This favorite event is one that is always looked forward to by us all. Marsha and Elizabeth bid "Season's Greetings" to everyone as they arrived.

Everyone gathered 'round Elizabeth's gorgeous tree and gave their best holiday smiles.

So much delicious food! What wonderful cooks we have in our Garden Club.

Cecelia, Carolyn and Phyllis enjoy visiting and chatting over lunch.

...and then comes the Ornament Exchange. GaNelle shows off the lovely ornaments that she chose.

NOVEMBER MEETING

What a lovely table Paula Brown sets. Her home was the location for the November meeting. Everyone always enjoys the social time before President Lila calls the meeting to order.
As usual, the horticultural specimens that were submitted at this months meeting were beautiful. Debbie always does a good job organizing and judging this.

A wonderful program, "A Mosaic of History, Archaeology and Native Plants", was presented by Dr. Robert Connolly, Director of the Chucalissa Museum. Southwind Garden Club has been actively involved over the past few years with various projects at Chucalissa such as the Chucalissa Arboretum and spring and fall plantings. We look forward to expanding our work with Chucalissa.

Linda is always eager and willing to serve with any Garden Club needs and projects. Here she is giving her committee report at the November meeting. She always does a fabulous job at anything that she puts her hand to.

Missy and Glenice converse afterward about what a great meeting it was!

OUR FIRST MEETING OF THE YEAR

Lisa Mitchell graciously opened her home to us for our first Southwind Garden Club meeting of the 2009-2010 year on Monday, August 17. We had great attendance and Lisa was a wonderful hostess.

President Lila confers with last year's president, Glenice, for some last minute advice before calling her first meeting to order.

Debbie had some great tips on preparing and showing horticulture specimens for judging.

Lila, our lovely queen, kept the meeting moving right along.

Mary Jo, our treasurer, and Linda, our first vice president, talked a bit before the meeting began about the busy year ahead of us.
