GOLDEN DAYS PLANTING PROJECT

Lila, Glenice and Sharon O. spent a recent beautiful Fall day planting over 400 daffodil bulbs at Germantown Plantation on behalf of our Garden Club. The residents there will be able to enjoy the beauty of this project when Spring arrives. Thank you Lila, Glenice and Sharon for your hard work.
Debbie Strelsin's mother-in-law, who is a resident at Germantown Plantation, came out to inspect.

SEPTEMBER MEETING WAS JUST ROSIE

Our September Garden Club meeting was held at the home of Marianne Parrs. Her neighbor, Jay Tingle, a rosarian for over 30 years, treated everyone who attended the meeting to a special tour of his beautiful rose gardens. He also presented a very informative program on SIMPLIFYING YOUR ROSE GROWING EXPERIENCE.

OUR FIRST MEETING OF THE YEAR

Lisa Mitchell graciously opened her home to us for our first Southwind Garden Club meeting of the 2009-2010 year on Monday, August 17. We had great attendance and Lisa was a wonderful hostess.

President Lila confers with last year's president, Glenice, for some last minute advice before calling her first meeting to order.

Debbie had some great tips on preparing and showing horticulture specimens for judging.

Lila, our lovely queen, kept the meeting moving right along.

Mary Jo, our treasurer, and Linda, our first vice president, talked a bit before the meeting began about the busy year ahead of us.

AMAZING TALENT

Some of you may have missed getting to see the beautiful floral creation at the Club during tournament week in June. Just gorgeous, isn't it? This is the amazing handiwork of the talented Carolyn Browder.
