WHAT A TREAT!!

We all really enjoyed the beautiful singing voices and Christmas Luncheon entertainment by "The Take-Note Singers". This group of Memphis ladies are very talented. We were invited to sing along and get into the Christmas spirit. Great fun!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!

CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON

Gretchen Reeves and her social committee did a wonderful job with the Garden Club Christmas Luncheon that was held at the home of GaNelle Ballard.

Everyone enjoyed being together to visit before lunch was served.

Great bartending, girls.

The food was delicious!

DECORATING THE GATES AND CLUBHOUSE

The SGC Christmas elves have been very busy lately preparing for the holidays. What a beautiful job they did on the front and back gate entrances to our neighborhood and also to the Southwind Clubhouse.

"My team can beat your team."

"Fluffing" garland for the back gate.

Making the front doors of the Clubhouse look festive.

The ribbon is absolutely a must when decorating for the holidays!

"I'm not afraid of heights!"

GINA'S GORGEOUS FALL DESIGNS

Here is a look at some of the beautiful stuff that Gina created for us at our November meeting. It is always such a special treat to have her come and demonstrate her magic for us.

GERMANTOWN PLANTATION IS SITE OF NOVEMBER MEETING

Our regular November meeting brought us back for a visit to Germantown Plantation Retirement Living facility, the location of our flower show last April.

We began with a hospitality time that gave everyone a chance to greet each other and have a "catching-up" chat.

Beth gave her report on getting our neighborhood front gates decorated for the Christmas holidays. It's time for the SGC Christmas elves to get busy!

We enjoyed having the Germantown Plantation residents join us for our business meeting and...

...the delightful Fall holiday floral designs demonstration by Gina Stowitzky from Holiday's Florist.
Afterward, SGC members stayed for a wonderful lunch and visit with the residents.

OCTOBER 2010 MEETING

Our Garden Club meeting for the month of October was held on Monday, October 18 at the lovely home of Gretchen Reaves. Other hostesses were Kim Cox, Sally Brenner and Gloria Marchant.

President Lila and Secretary Missy arrived early at Gretchen's door, on this beautiful Fall morning, to get set up for the meeting.

Here is Gretchen serving punch at her beautiful table to our two newest Garden Club members, Sharon Wassell (left) and Holly Hughes (center). We are so happy to have them in our group.

Diane Baskin, our Inspirational Chairman, always presents to us a delightful message at each meeting.

We even had a couple of nice horticulture entries brought for judging in spite of the very hot and extremely dry Fall that we have had this year.

We really had a great turn-out for this very productive and informative meeting. Looking forward to next month.
